About Tina Derosario

“Hi, I’m Tina Derosario, the owner of shihtzu by tiamaria in Troy, Virginia. I am a breeder of merit that meets the standards of AKC and ASTC. Shih Tzu is one of my favorite breeds under the toy dog category.


I have been breeding Shih Tzu puppies for more than 15 years and producing show dogs for more than 6 years to participate in the AKC show ring.


My dedication to producing healthy and well-trained pups is because of my first champions, who came from a reputable breeder. Those handlers take so much effort to breed dogs according to the standards that guaranteed my canines’ health.


Inspired by those breeders, I take selecting the parents of my next champions seriously. I’m looking for particular qualities, such as: 

    • Broad Back Shoulders
    • Broad Chests
    • Correct Rear Stances
    • Dark Eyes
    • High and Curled Tails
    • Large Heads
    • Straight Legs

Aside from these, I look for gorgeous big eyes like my pup, Haley, who just became an AKC champion, and was handled by the expert, Dan Haley.”

Who We Are

We are a small show home striving hard to meet the AKC standards. Our puppies are bred not just to be a champion, but also to ensure their health, temperament, and conformation. They are trained to become a loving companion and a social animal.


Whenever someone is interested in bringing home one of our champions, we give a written 2-year health guarantee along with our pups. In fact, we have repeat clients and referrals from different cities within Virginia, such as:

    • Charlottesville
    • Fredericksburg
    • Richmond
    • Stafford County
    • Vienna
    • Virginia
    • West Virginia

We also have clients in other states, such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Washington, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, and Connecticut. However, we do not ship puppies. We’d love meeting our champions’ future family.
